Chris Hinojosa | Intercessory Missionary
What is LHOP?
The Lakeland House of Prayer is a prayer-based ministry whose mission is to change the spiritual atmosphere of our region through prayer and intercession. Our hope and desire is to see churches, faith communities and fellowships of believers develop their own personal culture of prayer in order to see 24/7 prayer across the city of Lakeland. LHOP is supported through various fund-raising efforts, by regular partnering, by free-will contributions, and most importantly your prayers. LHOP is made up of
"Intercessory Missionaries" that are full and part time staff who raise their own support from family, friends and their local church. Support given directly to
LHOP goes directly to the daily expenses of running the prayer room, overhead and outreaches;
not to missionary staff.
What is an Intercessory Missionary?
An Intercessory Missionary can be thought of much like a traveling missionary. The 'missionary' part includes local outreach to the community in Lakeland. The 'intercessory' part means that they also have a responsibility to also devote specified time in prayer. Intercessory Missionaries live a Psalm 27:4 lifestyle:
“One thing I have desired of the Lord, that will I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord, and to seek Him in His temple.” (Psalm 27:4) The best example of an intercessory missionary was Anna (Luke 2) who did not depart from the temple, but served the Lord night and day with prayer and fasting. As a result of her devotion to prayer and fasting she became the first great evangelist in the New Testament.
Fan the Flame
It is the prayers and financial support of people like you that enable me to continue my ministry as a worship leader and intercessory missionary. Just like any other missionary, I raise support to meet my financial needs, depending fully on God’s provision. Please consider partnering with me on a month to month basis.
